The end approaches

On Monday November 4, the end of the first marking period of the school year arrives. For many teachers, that means finalizing the grades of students, and for the administration this means organizing student grade reports. Students, however, have a different issue presented to them: in just a few days, their grades for one quarter of the year will be finalized. This means no more extensions for late assignments or time to bring one’s grade back up—the grades one has on Monday are the final grades.

Considering this, students should remember to check their grades utilizing the online grade reporting service Pinnacle-or the PIV-and be sure to note any missing assignments that can still be turned in for credit so that these can positively impact the final quarter grades. Checking one’s grades early would also allow for one to have an inkling as to what is likely to become one’s final grade. This may also help prepare mom and dad for the soon to arrive home report card.
