UConn women defeated

In the most recent edition of ‘Things that Happen Once in a Blue Moon’ the impenetrable force of the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team has finally been dethroned, snapping their 111 game winning streak and knocking them out of the NCAA tournament. This is the first loss by the Huskies since 2014, and the team was looking to be well on their way to a mind-blowing FOURTH consecutive national championship.

Mississippi State guard Morgan William hit a midrange jump shot at the buzzer to stun the entire sports world, doing something that most would consider impossible. The Mississippi State Bulldogs will play South Carolina in the National Championship game Sunday at 6 PM. Fans may want to pay attention to this game, because it will be the first time in three years that UConn women will not play in the game. All acclamation should go to Geno Auriemma and his team, as winning 111 straight games will probably never be done again…or, he might just encourage his girls to strive for 112.
