“Anyone had a chance to win it this year,” said Jamal Aziz (11). Multi-billionaire Warren Buffet offered one billion dollars to anybody who was able to create a perfect bracket for this year’s tournament, but after the second round there were no more perfect brackets left.  This year’s NCAA tournament wasn’t a surprise on how it ended with the past year’s  cupcake teams making Cinderella runs in the tournament.

“This was UConn’s years in both men and women’s basketball because they both won it all this year,” said Tony Talton (11). The tournament ended this year with the seventh seed Connecticut Huskies, who came in with a chip on their shoulder after being banned from last year’s NCAA tournament due to academic issues. They won 60-54 against the young freshmen power house team, the Kentucky Wildcats.

“It was disappointing only seeing [one Big Ten team] in the Final Four this year,” said Tyler Cummings (12). The NCAA tournament always has a school that is one of the last picks to get into the tournament but are a major underdog, but they manage to put their school on the map by beating highly favored teams in the tournament. The Dayton Flyers were this year’s Cinderella team who start getting recognition after their first round win against OhioState but, unfortunately their tournament run fell to the Florida Gators during the Elite Eight.

The 2014 NCAA tournament showed us that any team no matter what school they came from or what seed they got in the tournament, they had a chance of winning it all this year.
