Through the weekend, the Portage Northern Marching Band took home the win of placing 4th in the state, which ties their best-ever finish.

Performing at Ford Field, the marching band woke up early to play in the early morning group and earned a school-high score of 89.525.

“I was excited, nervous, and sad for finals, it’s a combination of knowing we made it to finals for our last performance in front of the biggest crowd ever,” said sophomore band member Paige Underwood.  “I love going every year, performing to that big of an audience of people who understand our crazy activity is so overwhelmingly positive,” says junior Maren Case, a color guard member.

Finishing ahead of the Huskies were Jenison (93.050), Grandville (92.025), and Lakeland (91.00).
