“I’ve always thought the news was boring,” said freshman Jalyn Brooks. “I never thought I would be in journalism.” Brooks didn’t know yet, but her world and everything she knew before was about to change. When she became: The Northern Lights newest recruit. “I don’t back down from a challenge, I’m always up for an adventure,” said Brooks. She’s got clear goals for the year ahead as well: “My biggest goal would be to make my writing flow better so that it’s easier to read without having a heart attack,” she said.
