MVP of the Month: Nathan Thoman
December 12, 2013
The word ‘athlete’ is a respectable title. Most athletes work hard, make sacrifices, and have dedication that can be hard to find. But some are not given enough recognition-or given any at all. Nathan Thoman, a senior here at Portage Northern, falls into this group. He is the anchor spot on the varsity bowling team and has had a very successful career. “My parents made me play a lot of sports when I was little, so I could see what I liked,” Thoman said. “I was good at bowling so I stuck with it.” Last year, he went undefeated for the majority of the season, keeping his #1 spot on PN’s team. At the end of the year, Coach named him MVP of the team, with a best game of 290. His team also beat PC. This year, he hopes to bowl a perfect game at some point this season. All of us who know how difficult bowling is realize that Thoman has of talent that is worthy of appreciation.
