2010s kids
February 5, 2020
As the decade comes to an end, us 2010s kids look back and reminisce over the things that made up our childhoods.
First, we have the movies that made us. From The Lego Ninjago to Star Struck, the list is basically endless. The top 5, however, would likely be:
- The Monster High movie series with its freaky fun.
- The Spongebob Movie, which ensured the best day ever.
- Lemonade Mouth with its ahead of its time activism and a splash of comedy.
- The Shrek Movies, making sure everyone Shreks the halls this time of year.
- THE BARBIE MOVIES. The only way to describe these movies is Iconic. I still know all the words! You do too. Let’s be honest.
Next, the music we obsessed over.
- Party Rock Anthem by LMAFO. “Party Rockin in The House Tonight!”
- Fireflies by Owl City. “I’d like to make myself believe that planet earth moves slowly.”
- What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction: “You don’t know you’re beautiful. That’s what makes you beautiful.”
- Shake it Off by Taylor Swift. “Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play, And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. Baby, I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake. I shake it off, I shake it off!”
- Call Me Maybe by Carly Ray Jepson: “Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but here’s my number. So call me maybe.”
After that, the TV shows we grew up with.
- Good Luck Charlie: “Where’s my left shoe, there it is up on the roof.”
- Big Time Rush: “It’s the only life you got so you gotta live it big time.”
- Wizards of Waverly Place: “Be careful not to mess with the balance of things, because everything is not what it seems.”
- ICarly: “So wake up the members of my nation, it’s your time to be, There’s no chance unless you take one and the time to see. The brighter side of every situation, some things are meant to be. So give me your best and leave the rest to me.”
- Victorious: “Cause you know that if you live in your imagination. Tomorrow you’ll be everybody’s fascination. In my victory just remember me. When I make it shine.”
The 2010’s might be gone, but their memories linger on!
