Cross country: SMAC champions in training

Lexi Doll, Opinion Editor

The cross country SMAC championship is coming up on Saturday October 20th and the runners are more than excited for their most important race of the season.  The boys team hopes to take home a conference title and the women are hoping to take home the title for the second consecutive year. Junior Kanishk Madhav’s goal is to “win the SMAC championship title for guys and girls and really show that we are a team not to be messed around with”.

Lead runners such as senior Peyton Witt, senior Luke Daniel, senior Connor Clemmens and senior Max Rathburn hope to make their last conference championship their best.  Though they feel the pressure of this very important race, they are more than motivated to do the best they possibly can.

The runners will be competing at St. Joseph at Riverview Park.  The huskies hope to impress the crowd with many personal bests and season bests.
