With homecoming approaching around the United States, some students are concerned about what music will be played to help the mood. As with most dances, the music directly impacts if everyone is having a good time.
One way schools could implement this is by making a document or spreadsheet that gets sent to every student in that class and they can put their name and what song they want to be added into the playlist so all students can enjoy their favorite music and this helps everyone enjoy all types of music tastes.
People may want to listen to a song that the radio doesn’t play every day. I asked 20 different people what their favorite genre was and 13 out of 20 of the people I asked had completely different answers. It just shows that our school has such a diverse taste in all kinds of art, not just music, and allowing students to pick the music at the dance ensures that all students are represented in the playlist.
Perhaps another solution could be creating a poll for people to vote on what songs should be played and what songs should be added to that poll. Maybe the poll could be sent out to every English or math class so everyone can hear about the poll and vote on it.
Music is a very important part of highschool dances and dances in general. Students should have the freedom to choose what songs they play at the dance, especially if that dance is as important as homecoming.

Creating a diverse dance playlist enhances creativity and enjoyment students should include various genres to inspire energy and connect with different dance styles.

The problem with this is that some children might request explicit music, which is against school guidelines. I do think that this could be a good idea, the only thing I would change about the post is when it should be polled. I think it should be an optional poll during 4th hour in the headlines instead of during math or english.

This article makes many great points, and I also believe it would be very beneficial for students to choose the songs.

I think students have great taste in music, maybe a bit better than the DJ. I think we have fun songs that would be a lot of fun.

I like the idea of this, this is a very good argument and points I agree with these ideas because there are multiple different genres and people want to hear different stuff

I do agree with this article somewhat because creating a spreadsheet and sending it out to every student with their name attached to it could work very well. I just feel like it could go wrong if it gets to be too much.

Yes please! I’m kinda bored of the 2000’s songs ate every dance.
