Students displayed positivity in an environment where it might be nearly impossible: in a playoff football game against crosstown rival Portage Central. The student section was filled with excitement at the prospect of beating CHS at home. Several Superfans even created a massive poster of senior Derrick Henderson. “The poster motivated me during the tough times in the game,” he says. “I’d look up and see my sign lighting up and it was a great feeling.”
