Q: What is your favorite part of America so far?
A: My favorite part of America until now is the diversity of people that you have here. There are people from everywhere, and I really love seeing this variety of cultures and races. I also love the food here because you have a variety of restaurants and sweets too!
Q: Who has been your closest companion and why?
A: My closest companion since I arrived here was definitely my host sister, Elena Wilson (11). She has shown me a lot of new things and places, and I always have a very good time with her. She makes everything easier; I just love her!
Q: What’s the main difference between Portage Northern and your old school in Spain?
A: The main difference between PN and my old school is that this one is much bigger and there are more people. In Spain I live in a city, so there are a lot of schools together, and that means that there are fewer people in each high school. Like I have already said, here you have a lot of fun stuff to do in the school, like clubs, the musical, a lot of sports, spirit days… in my old school we didn’t have all of that.
Q: What do you miss most about home?
A: What I miss most about home is my family and my friends. But I have only been here for a month, so I’m not really homesick yet. I know that I will see them in nine months and everything will be like always, so now the only thing that I care for is this year here.
Q: What has been your best experience here so far?
A: My best experience here so far is everything! I love seeing new places here and I like the school a lot. I know that it can sound weird for you that I like the school, but here I can do a lot of stuff that I wouldn’t be able to do in my school in Spain. Lessons here are less boring too and I love all the spirit days.
